Modern Kitchens offers a comprehensive design, fabrication and installation service that takes you from concept to completion.

The important things – like colour, feel, flow and aesthetic – are your domain, and you are welcome to lean on our experience. We can take care of the construction and project management side of things, keeping across tradespeople and any necessary paperwork.

Our workshop staff custom-fabricate cabinets, shelves, wardrobes, drawers, and more; all in our fabrication workshop on Hull Road, Mt Maunganui. Over the last 40 years Modern Kitchens has striven to keep ahead of the competition in terms of quality. Today, many of our fabrication machines are computer-controlled for the finest tolerances possible. However, the assembly, the details and the quality of our cabinetry all come down to our experience and expertise.

Modern Kitchens offer a 10-year Workmanship Warranty on all work. We service Tauranga and surrounds, and the Western Bay of Plenty through to Waihi.

Laundries

Utility is the most important factor in a great laundry, but there’s no need to sacrifice aesthetic. A custom-printed glass backsplash or top-quality mixer can make the room a joy to use. Features like push-to-open cupboards, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and integrated lighting all make the most of sometimes pokey laundry rooms.

Wardrobes

Wardrobes, and especially walk-in wardrobes, quickly become cluttered without serious consideration and well-fitting furniture. Modern Kitchens can custom design and install any kind of wardrobe to your needs and specifications – measured to the millimetre and fabricated here in Mt Maunganui.

Stephen and his team were an absolute pleasure to deal with. We did a major reno with a lot of sub contractors, which Ryan coordinated for us when it got too hard! We needed a new cupboard made and installed in our laundry - made to match the existing cupboards. We checked with several cabinet making firms. NONE of them were even remotely interested in a "small" job, including the firm who did the kitchen and laundry fit out in our new house 5 years ago. The ONLY firm who was interested was Modern Kitchens. They immediately said that they could and would do the job. From quote to final installation the staff at Modern Kitchens were timely, efficient, professional and friendly. We were totally rapt with the final result, and best of all we only had to wait a few weeks for the job to be completed. From the beginning, Steven and the team at Modern Kitchens were forthcoming with fantastic ideas. We felt we received a personal level of service the entire kitchen experience. Thanks Steven, Chris and the team at MK. MK designed and installed our kitchen and we are super happy with the result, it is great quality and looks beautiful! Steven managed the whole process and was always quick to respond right from the start, and was easy to deal with especially with last minute design changes from us. We had a delay at our end with painting before install, and Steven was able to move the install date around to work in with us. We highly recommend using MK for the whole kitchen design and installation process.
