Modern Kitchen
The Classico kitchen is an excellent example of the modern-classic style, boasting timeless design elements, fine cabinetry and clever use of space.
Central to the theme is the traditional ‘Rhonda’-profile cabinet panels from the Dezignatek Thermoform range, painted in Resene Half Marino two-pot paint lacquer, which offer the kitchen comprehensive but not-overwhelming detailing. Each kitchen drawer is pulled by an unmistakably nostalgic Brushed Nickel Knightsbridge cup handle from Archant, while the cupboards are actuated by push-to-open mechanisms, leaving the panelling uncluttered. The cleverly designed bench top houses hidden cabinets that make useful storage for glassware.
Hefty 50 mm-thick Pacific Stone Light Vein Quartz engineered stone was chosen for the work surfaces. A chrome Italian-designed Multitap Juno mixer is set over a stainless Mercer single-bowl sink. Custom, covert cupboards conceal entertainment glassware in the exterior of the kitchen peninsula. Drawers-within-drawers provide more efficient use of space without disrupting the overarching design.
Low-profile windowed cavity-slider doors separate the walk-in pantry from the kitchen. Inside the pantry is a continuation of most design elements with the addition of open-fronted drawers and white wall tiles. A custom library nook was crafted with solid 30mm American Oak timber, offering a classic, timeless design.
The built-in appliances – including two Bosch wall ovens, an inset Bosch cooktop, and a stainless-trimmed microwave – offer black and steel as a modern contrast to the white surrounds. The Classico Modern Kitchen carefully balances form and function.
