Modern Kitchens’ creative crew of design professionals have been transforming spaces for over 40 years.

Over that time, our team, methods and styles have evolved. We’ve drawn inspiration from international design communities and the NZ homes we’ve remodelled, and our collective experience is stronger than ever.

We remain focused on bespoke kitchens and cabinetry that are conceived and manufactured from raw materials in Mt Maunganui by our capable designers and craftspeople.

Masterful Local Cabinetmakers

Each Modern Kitchen is manufactured locally in our 300 m² facility in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga.

We take bulk materials that are made in NZ (e.g., Melteca laminate) or abroad (e.g., Italian Laminam porcelain) and fabricate kitchens and cabinetry to millimetre-precision.Modern Kitchens’ specialist CNC cutting machine cuts panels and parts exactly to specification. Our edge-banding machine finishes panels in any odd size.

An Integral Install Team

Modern Kitchens’ in-house installation team are involved in every build from the outset of the project.

We’ll take into account your home’s plumbing, electricity and framing to avoid the need to ‘shoehorn’ a design into place. We’ll also measure your home’s interior dimensions to make sure everything fits through the door.

Once your kitchen or cabinetry is manufactured, we’ll pre-assemble it as much as possible in our warehouse before it’s transported to your home.

Modern Kitchens’ use NZ-sourced materials wherever possible, with the exception of proprietary or patented designer components that come from interior design hubs (e.g., Italy).
