Bastion

The challenging geometry of the Bastion kitchen was no problem for the expert designers and fabricators at Modern Kitchens. An irregular footprint, the corner location and intrusive sloped ceiling were each factored into the build and incorporated into a winning design.

Floor to ceiling cabinetry seamlessly integrates with the complex shape of the room. A faux bulkhead above the ovens creates intentional separation between the storage/prep area and the cooking area. The ‘golden triangle’ is carefully preserved.

Wraparound custom Engineered Stone benchtops provide ample working surfaces and a mini breakfast bar at the kitchen entrance. The quality, stainless Mercer Everglade Bowl & ¼ with Drainer is a timeless and practical sink. A distinctive, contemporary flat-stemmed tap and mixer – Archant’s Okura, in chrome – continues the tasteful linear theme of this Modern Kitchen.

Full-width, anodised Ezi-Venice drawer and cupboard handles harmonise with the horizontal lines of the splashback. Push to open doors feature above bench-height as dictated by best ergonomic practice. The ‘Iridium’ coloured, narrow reeded glass splashback evokes fine steel corrugate, and expands naturally up the walls as it sweeps around the kitchen.
